Babies: 3 - 6 Months

What do you do with your 3 month old during the day?

What is your routine. How much do you play with them?  How much do they sit in bouncer/carseat while you get stuff done. etc.

Re: What do you do with your 3 month old during the day?

  • We start our day around 7a (give or take a few, depending on when she wakes up).  I get her dressed for the day and "make her bed and clean her room" for the day (trying to start good habits ;).  Then I feed her breakfast.  After she eats she sits in her bouncer with me in the kitchen while I wash bottles.  Then I move to other parts of the house getting it ready for the day (sweep floors/vacuum, wipe counters, make bed, start a load of laundry, etc. ).  Once I am done with that (20-30 min.) we play with toys and do some tummy time.  She goes down for a nap 2hrs after waking, sleeps for 2hrs.  When she wakes, she eats again and then we go outside/take a walk.  Again, 2 hrs from wake time she's down for another nap, sleeps about 2.5hrs.  When she wakes she eats then either sits in her bouncer or swing while I make dinner (15-20 minutes).  The remainder of the evening is filled with toys, singing and playing outside.  We start bedtime routine between 7 and 7:30.  She is in bed by about 8. • She gets up when Brooke and I get up, which is between 9 and 10.  She mainly goes around the house with me as I do things with B.  She likes to be held a lot so I either have her in the carrier or on my lap while we play.  Sometimes she will sit in her bouncy and watch cartoons or roll around on the playmat for awhile.  She mainly likes to BF, haha

  • We try to eat, play, sleep every 2.5 to 3 hours. The "play" varies from being on her play mat, sitting in her bumbo-swing-or bouncy, sitting on my lap singing songs or reading a story, skyping my mom or sister-in-law, or a quick trip to target or the grocery if we need something.  1.5 to 2 hours after she eats I try to get her down for a nap which can last anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours.
