My baby grunts like an old man

She's almost 3 weeks old and she keeps grunting. She does it when she's feeding, when just sitting there, and when she sleeps. It's weird! I asked my pediatrician about it and he didn't really have much to say. Do your babies do this?

  • Mine does! I think it's adorable, but sadly enough it usually means gas for my little guy.

  • I think all babies do that.  Olivia has a whole vocabulary of baby noises: grunts, squeaks, coos, etc, lol

  • Mine grunts all the time, but even more so when we go to move him while he's sleeping.

  • Both my LOs grunt too, usually in their sleep - I think it is from gas issues.  :-(

  • My Daughter did it alot, and it lead to colic. Watch, bec these are the first signs sometimes of Colic. Also, a distended tummy. If you live near Ks, there is a doc. that helped my daughter with it, and her colic went away within 2 wks! She sleeps through the night now without the every hour painful crys. :( Babies only cry for a few reasons, 1. hungry 2. diaper change 3. hurting. She was in pain, so watch for that. The Doc. name is Scharenberg. Hes amazing! Hes been doing it for over 30yrs and has a practice in Wichita. Good luck on the grunting! I hope its not colic! (My doc also told me to was nothing either at first)
