He's getting cheerios or gerber poofs with every meal. I've started with some more chunky things since he's doing better with the cereal. I usually give him some kind of stage 2 meal or yo-baby yogurt and then some of what we are having for dinner. This week he's had green beans ground up, tiny pieces of fish, pasta, potato and rice.
I dice up soft fruit and veggies for her like plums, cantaloupe, kiwi, carrots and green beans. She also gets puffs and pieces of toast. She gets either organic nonfat plain yogurt or organic nonfat greek yogurt maybe 2-3 times a week. I will also melt organic white cheddar cheese on her broccoli sometimes. I am going to start chunkier meals next weak.?
We share whatever we eat with DS as long as it's not spicy. He loves pancakes, chicken, pasta, hamburger, cheese, etc. If he can't have what we are eating (like tonight's chili) I usually give him some leftovers or heat up some gerber pasta pick ups. As far as dairy he gets yogurt and cheese. All his meals are chunky these days!
Wow, I feel way behind! I have been hesitating a bit since my pediatrican told me that all of DS nutrition still needs to come from the formula, and all of the baby and finger foods are just "for fun". So we have started DS on puffs and left him try tiny pieces of bread, etc.
One problem I have is that DS doesn't have any teeth yet, so they recommended staying away from the fruits and cooked veggies until he can munch a little easier. So far he's not a fan of the puffs. Maybe I could try some cooked pasta. Any other ideas for LO's with no teeth?
I feel like a bit of a weenie. We're still doing mostly purees!
We've introduced a ton of fruits and veggies this way, but as for soft finger foods or mixed textures, we haven't been too adventurous. She gets puffs with every "meal", loves loves loves Mum Mums, and has nibbled on some soft, small pieces of banana. Maybe I'll try some soft cooked pasta. I bet she'd love it. She really hasn't been that hot to trot about solids, so I haven't pushed it. She does love anything in her mesh feeder, and wants to nibble/gum anything I am eating, though, so maybe once we get rocking on some finger foods, she'll start eating more. I guess, like PP, I have it in my head that most of her nutrition should come from BM, so I haven't made a huge priority of it, knowing that it's more for "fun" and texture experiences than nutrition. Also, she has no teeth, and while I realize their little jaws are powerhouses (just ask Sophie) - I still get a little gun shy.
Eager to read ideas of other soft finger foods here though, so thanks for this post.

We do mostly purees but I make them pretty chunky. Just fruits and veggies so far, and whole milk yogurt. She gets puffs and has had little pieces of bread and shredded cheese.

I am doing BLW so LO eats everything right now besides egg white and honey.
E.g. toast with cream cheese, a whole pear, strips of meat, corn on the cob, rice crackers, broccoli, bok shoy, carrots, watermelon, cantaloupe...etc.
I will also load a spoon with oatmeal+fruit puree and LO would put the spoon in his mouth on his own.

This, and DS has no teeth either.
