The green tea that everyone has been talking about...is that a hot, steeped type tea, or the cold, already brewed tea you would get in the cooler case of your local gas station? Just curious because if it works, then I will start drinking that too, I just don't want to screw up and drink one when it should have been the other.
And the green tea will only effect PNV's if you are pregnant right? It doesn't mess with anything the first half of your cycle before O...is that a true statement?

Was the Dr.'s only problem with the green tea the caffeine? I am so addicted to my caffeine free green tea with mint! I know, I know, I should probably do some more googling, but #1 I keep reading conflicting things and #2 I am lazy today.
If I remember correctly it is something in green tea that affects the absorption of folic acid. Being how important folic acid is before/during pregnancy, that may be the reason for the dr's concern.

Green tea has less caffine than coffee and I think other teas.
No, it wasn't the caffiene... it has something to do with causing your ute to contract I think... she said some every now and then was probably fine, but 3-4 cups a day was probabaly not very good, which is what I think was recommended

Ok, I'm by no means an expert, but I've done a bunch of research on this since I produce very little CM normally, so here goes...
It doesn't matter if its hot or cold, the thing is with many bottled green tea drinks, the "green tea" is actually flavoring, so not necessarily actual green tea and therefore not necessarily containing the compounds that are beneficial for producing more CM.
Next, I've never heard anything about caffeine affecting PNV absorbtion (it may, just saying I've never read anything about that), but as a PP said, green tea can block absorbtion of folic acid. Since my doc and other stuff I've read states that researchers are seeing a benefit to taking PNV's for MONTHS prior to conception, I'd be careful here. I drink my green tea in the morning and take my PNV in the afternoon.
Last, researchers are tentatively saying that green tea can cause ute contractions, so it should NOT be drunk at all after O. The same goes for EPO, I believe. And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there's some potential problem with drinking Pom juice/taking pom supplements after O as well.
Whew. Can you tell I'm a total science/biology geek? lol Hope this helps and if I've got my facts jacked up, someone please correct me. I'm going to look for the studies/med info pages I got all of this from and post them in their own thread sometime.
