When are you having your baby shower?

I am due March 18th and I was thinking that I wuold like to have my shower at the end of January so that I would have a full month to finish setting everything up. My mom thinks that is way too early. What do you guys think and when are you having yours in relation to your due date?

I have no idea when they'll throw a shower for me. I know my best friend and my mother have mentioned having one for me but no dates have been discussed, as far as I know. I'd guess Jan or Feb but again, that's a long ways off and I'm not doing any of the planning.

i'm due 3/8 and the shower is set for 1/15. my boyfriend's family lives in east texas and we'll be up there for thanksgiving so they might do something then as well.

January is not at all early, I think its perfect

I am having 3 baby showers and one of them is going to be REALLY early (thanksgiving) because we're having family and friends come for the holiday. The next two will probably be sometime in January. Yes its a lot of showers but for good reason lol we come from different types of families soooo different showers would be great in my case :P

i am a special case because i live in arizona and all of our family lives in pennsylvanis except for one aunt on DH's side...so they are throwing a shower for me in January i think, but I wont be able to be there because of work and not being able to travel after in the 3rd trimester. but i will be there via web cam! haha!

I'm due March 7th and I'm having my showers Feb 5th and 6th. I am waiting till Feb cause January is always tight on people after the holidays. I figure that still gives me time to get things I need/finish up. It'll MAKE me get off my duff in the third tri

I'm due that day after you and mine are going to be in January and early February. January is not too early at all! I have friends due in March that are having their showers in November, so I don't think you need to worry.

My family HAS to do it near Thanksgiving when I fly in for the holidays. It's the last time my doc will allow me to fly so we don't really have much of an option. If I DID have more of an option, I think I'd rather have a shower around February where it's close to the due date but not too close in case of early pregnancy.

i doubt if i am having one. i live in new zealand. maybe my work mates might throw me one, but i am not counting on it.

My family is throwing mine on Black Friday. I live 9+hrs away from them, and it is not definite that we'll be home for Christmas (or any time later, DH and I work too much)

We're definitely going home for thanksgiving, so, that's why then, even though it's way early.

Mine is next Saturday! I had to have mine by the second week of October because I'm moving. No one in my family has seemed to care that it's so early, but since I have special considerations, there isn't much choice. If I had a choice I'd be having it around the 2nd week of January. I say have it when you want/can and don't stress too much about whether people think it's too early or not.

I dont think January is to early. thats really the time frame for baby showers around here anyway , and like you said it will give you time to get any of the other things you need with out getting stressed at the last minute.

I have 2 SIL who are also pg right now, one is due end of January, one is due mid February. I am hoping to have mine early or late February, because I cannot imagine NOT having them there. I told my sisters to make sure they plan the shower around those two babies also. I don't want to miss either of their births, if they go into labor during my shower. I also, don't want to have my shower without them. It is really important to me to have my close family there to share that day with me.

I don't think end of January is too early at all.

P.S. We have the same EDD!! YAY.... is this your first also?

I am also due March 18th (my ticker says otherwise b/c my doctor just changed it Monday) and I am having mine in mid-January.

My mom and I have already discussed this. My shower will be mid-February. I think it's cutting it a little close, but we think that January will be too soon after Christmas, and in our province there is a Stat Holiday in February, so it will be a good opportunity for OOT guests to make it in if they want to.

I'm due March 6th and I'm having one thrown for me in MA (I live in TX, but still have my family and a lot of friends there) when I fly up for Thanksgiving and then having my TX one thrown over MLK weekend.

I'm not really sure. My mom and I have briefly discussed it, but haven't settled on an exact date. In my family, we don't believe in having baby showers too early. Since I'm due March 10, mine will most likely be in the middle of February.

I probably won't have one this time, but with my son we had the baby shower at 32 weeks. I had to travel to my hometown for it, though, and didnt want to travel much past that. I also didnt want to be embarassingly HUGE at the party, so I could enjoy it a bit more, and have time to unload things slowly since Im so busy. I loved having it at that time, and Im glad we didnt wait until later. My work also threw me a shower, but it was when DS was 8 weeks old, so that he could come to it also. It was a nice way to introduce him to everyone. I think they were going to do it sooner, but I had a cs and DS was in the nicu for a week, so it was 8 weeks before we could really get around easily.

I am due March 16th, and the only person to even mention a shower so far is my SIL. She's 22 so her experiences so far have been more with keggers than baby showers, but I'm really flattered she wants to host. We just talked about it in passing, so no date decided, but I'm assuming late January or early February.

I am due on March 9th and I am having my baby shower January 16th. It was a perfect date for me. I work at a bank and its a sunday so I definately have it off and some of my family is going to be out of town in Feb, so it is perfect date!

I'm due mid March so I was thinking of having a shower b/w the end of Jan and the end of Feb. There will probably be surprise showers here and there too, everyone is sooo excited!!
