I am not sure. I bought Dreft but now I am thinking of use All Free & Clear for all of our clothes so that way I only have to buy one kind and not two.
My mom bought us a big bottle of Dreft to pre-wash clothes. After it is empty, I plan on using All Free and Clear or All Baby (saw that at Walmart this weekend) - both options are much cheaper.
I'd stay away from Dreft-it's ridiculously overpriced. I used purex free and clear since it seems to be on sale a lot, is more reasonably priced plus and I get coupons for it. At 6 months I switched to "regular" detergent again once I found out it didnt irritate his skin.
My mom bought us All Free and Clear and Purex Free and Clear, since I kept forgetting to buy it myself.
I started prewashing with the All, because it seems practically everyone prefers that. The clothes look and smell fine, but they were already clean to begin with. The true test will be after there's spitup and food all over them.
I washed all my clothing in free and clear before I put it in the dresser. Today/last night at the hospital, upon meeting little Jude, my mom informed me I will be using dreft. lol She said so he can smell like "baby". Hubby and I just laughed, We both like dreft we were just going the cheaper route. The free and clear by all worked great, but its going to be nice to have the dreft my mom got us too.
I use whatever free and clear is on sale (or I have a coupon for) when I need it. I hated Dreft, not only did it not clean my clothes but I don't like the smell.
UGH- I hate the smell of Dreft- way too much fragrance- can be irritating to babies with sensitive skin. I'll use All free and clear early on and then eventually switch to Era- what the rest of the family uses.
Neither - I use Tide Regular HE. I used reg tide with DS1 and he had no issues with regular detergent. If for some reason this LO has a reaction then I will obvioulsy switch detergents but if not we will be sticking with regualar Tide.

I'll go ahead and admit that I took that $5 off Dreft BRU coupon, marched it into the store and way overpaid for detergent like a good little new mommy so that my first batch of baby clothes smell DELICIOUS. I barely regret this.
I'm sure I'll never buy it ever again... but I could not resist. Until I have "real" baby smell in the house, this has been my crack.
I'm going with all free and clear because for our family it is cheaper. However, he also works for the company that makes all and we get coupons for buy one get on free through his work that apply on top of store sales.
I got so much for my baby shower for DS that I used it for 3 years on his clothes. So I'm going to use it for DD because it smells like baby to me. It's purely for nostalgia reasons. I probably wouldn't have used it at all if I didn't get it at the shower, but I miss that smell now.

Dreft. My mom used this on us. It doesn't have a strong smell after it goes through the washer either. The scent is very faint to where you can't even smell it unless you really press your nose onto the fabric and inhale deeply.
Re: Poll!Which R U going to use All Free &CLear or Dreft?
Neither...just my regular Tide HE with an extra rinse cycle.
*flame away, but we did this with DS (minus the extra rinse) and he was fine.
i use Dreft.
i think her skin has chilled out though- so i might switch to something cheaper.

Neither. I'm using our regular tide, just using less of it for baby stuff.

I bought Tide Free & Clear, but I hate that it has no smell.. I like to smell my clean clothes.
After we got some poop stains on clothes, I tried one load in Oxy Clean (which smells great) and DD never had any reaction to the switch in detergent.
I know... I'm a terrible mommy for chancing it. lol
