Graco Contempo (Circa). It was a toss-up between that one and the Chicco Polly (as per Baby Bargains). We went with the Contempo as it has good reviews and matches our PnP (like that matters, but doesn't hurt...)
Nothing. First of all, the baby won't be using it for eight months at least, and as this recall shows, there's no telling what will and won't be acceptable on the market by then. I'm not going to buy something and store it for the better part of a year on the off chance that it'll still be something I want or need next year.
Secondly, my friends all told me high chairs, along with bassinets, were their biggest money wasters. My friend gave me her booster seat -- it is a Fisher Price, but a booster and not a high chair and not on the recall list. A booster can fit on a regular chair. It's free, and if it does get recalled sometime in the next year, I can replace it with another for $20.
I registered for the Graco DuoDiner so that I could use it as a booster at the table once baby joins us for regular mealtimes instead of having to buy a booster later. It also matches our other items and had great reviews on ease of use and ease of removing the cover to wash it, which is key with a highchair because things get MESSY!
I didn't register for one since we won't need it right away. If/when I do end up buying one, it will probably be the Boon Flair. We'll probably also have a Fisher-Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster Seat for when we're on the go.
i got the graco duodiner - it was on clearance at Target - normally $130 i got it for $55.
Then after that someone handed down their fisher price rainforest high chair to us - i think i might give that one to my ILs to keep at their house....
EDIT - wow it appears that the fisher price one i have was recalled!!!! what's the process on this? do you just throw it away or will they replace it, and if so, do you have to have the receipt? (i obviously dont have this since it was a hand-me-down)
ok i just went to the mattel site and apparently they will send you a "repair" kit - nto a replacement

Boon Flair
This is the one I have. It's still in the box so I can't say anything about it though. I also got the matching travel system!
