I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything unless it was really on sale and I just couldn't pass this up. I had a 15% off a sling coupon from their flyer this week, plus a $10 off a registry purchase coupon, plus a $10 gift card from adding a Diaper Genie to my registry. So really I was saving money, right? ![]()
Re: PSA - BRU - I bought my BabyBjorn!
It's like they paid YOU to get it!
ETA: I was scared away from the Bjorn because people say they're not so great for baby's spine, and spine is my hot button issue. But it looks a crap-ton easier to use than the carrier I did end up getting (Lillebaby Everywear)

Ha. I do the same thing!
Have you ever heard of The Grocery Game? Its a list of your local grocery stores weekly flyers and all the coupons that coordinate with them for maximum savings. I got out of it while I was in the 1st tri and felt like crap for 2 months straight. But before that, I went to Walgreens and bought about $80 worth in razors, body wash, shampoo and deodorant for my hubby for under $20. He was set for a few months!
I completely forgot about that! Thank you for reminding me! I saw her on the news one night and I wanted to check it out... heading over to the website right now!
Wait - Baby Bjorn is supposed to be bad for the spine!? I hadn't heard that!
I've heard it, i have no clue if it is true or not. But they say the bjorn has the kid sort of dangling from the crotch area (putting all of baby's weight on his spine) and some of the other carries (people LOVE the ergo for this reason) allow for a more seated position so the knees are above the butt. Supposedly better, orthopedically speaking.
I can't imagine it's a huge issue for occasional use, but if you're going to be doing a lot of babywearing, it's worth looking into.
I also hear that the Ergo feels better on the wearers' back.
Come to think of it - i'm not entirely sure why I didn't get an ergo...

The other advantage of the Ergo is you can use it for a lot longer than the Bjorn. I've heard once the baby is about 15 lbs, the Bjorn is really hard on the wearer's back. No idea if there is anything to the orthopedic issues for baby, but I've heard from friends the Ergo is more comfortable much longer. The Ergo also has 3 wearing positions.
I think I saw this site and was influenced toward the Lillebaby, which was half price on mamabargains that day. It looks very similar to the Ergo though.

I'm getting an Ergo this time. I've had many mom friends who've recommended them. We had a carrier similar to the Bjorn and it KILLED my back once Olivia was like 15lbs. I always felt like she was gonna drop out or something too.
I'm asking for the Ergo for a Christmas gift. :P
I've been doing this for a couple years now a coworker turned me onto, If I don't save at least $60 bucks at the market I get so made LOL
This makes me way angry. Neither of the 2 (large, major) grocery stores I shop at are on her list.

I had heard that they're hard on the hip joints because of how the legs come out of the carrier. I really really want an Ergo but got a used Baby Bjorn free from a friend. I'm really hoping that I can convince DH down the road to get an Ergo especially since I have back and neck problems.
