Why am I feeling like this??

This has happened a lot lately. But I can't hardly stand up for more than 3-4 minutes without my body going numb and getting this tingly feeling, my heart starts beating really fast, I get really clammy, dizzy, lightheaded, and feel like I'm going to faint and throw up all at once. I called the doctor and all she said was go to the E.R. but I have a my Dr. Appointment in a couple of hours. Have any of you experienced this or know what it could possibly be?

  • Dr. said go to ER, means you should go to the ER.....

  • You may have an iron deficiency (sp) going on.  I was put on iron supplements last month for symptoms similar to this.  Have them test your hemoglobins to see if your count is low.

     And I agree with PP!

  • I get like that too sometimes.

     water water water.

    but definetly ask your doctor

  • Why are you posting if your Dr. told you to go to the ER? Do you really think you'll get a better solution from a board of pg women?

  • Well I would go to the ER but I have to be at my doctors office at 1:30. I called back and she said just to come in, by the time I would get there it would be time for my appointment. Plus the ER here is just plain crappy.

Thanks, I will ask about the iron deficiency. It's just scary to me. My mother had GD and I didn't know if that could have anything to do with it. Thanks for your help! I'm going to make sure the doctor runs some tests.

  • I get this a lot. I have since I was first pregnant. My doctor has said it is a combo of dehydration, the huge increase in the amount of blood my body is making, low blood sugar and change in center of gravity.

It is scary and not at all pleasant. If it worsens or you feel like you are panicking, I would go to the ER and not wait. If only to make sure you are okay and for your peace of mind. I did it many times.

  • Thanks girls! I went to my appointment, and everything was perfectly fine. I'm not a huge breakfast person and I usually eat a later breakfast, and she said that's the problem. When I get up eat some protein and I'll be good to go!! So everything is fine, and I've got a perfectly healthy baby boy!
