So the hubs and I are really liking the name Owen. But I feel like ever since we said that, I hear it all over the place. We like good solid old fashioned names. We dislike trendy, goofy spellings and anything too popular. My husband is a Matthew (goes by Matt). Growing up he always had 3 other Matts in his class and hated that. It's a good solid name but we want our kid to have something more unique (BUT NOT WEIRD!).
So tell me, have you heard this name coming back? Do you know a lot of new Owens?
Re: Is Owen becoming too popular?
I feel like you're the 5th person to ask that in the last month. So I'd say yes. It's a great name though!
I only know one Owen, he is about 6. His mother's maiden name was Owens.
I think its a great name, and I don't think it is too popular. At least, not in my personal experience.

Yes. And its stinks because it's my favorite boy name as it is my maternal grandmothers maiden name and we havent used anything from their side yet with my two DD's.
