How many cycles of short LPs did you have before you contacted your doctor?
My LPs are usually 10-12 days and I know that anything under 10 is something to be concerned about (although I did just read that some doctors consider anything less than 12?). But, today is 10DPO for me and I'm spotting bright red blood and cramping pretty bad. I know that AF will show before the day is over. I've done some research, but I can't find how many cycles with short LPs you should have before contacting your doctor. TIA!
Re: Ladies w/ short LPs.
I wouldn't worry too much about one 9 day LP. I don't have a number, but if I started feeling like it was a pattern, I would call.
Like I said, I wouldn't worry about just one. And hopefully you won't have to worry about it at all
I got spotting at 6-7 dpo for 3 months in a row (I was just using OPKs, and not charting), and I called my Dr. but he wasn't much help. I am going to start charting once AF shows so I have a better idea what going on. I don't think 10-12 days is really that short, but if it is stressing you out it won't hurt to make a phone call!
I was thinking this, too! I felt bad asking this question since it's just one time, but I just wanted to be prepared.
Thanks for the advice ladies! I'm gonna try not to worry about it until it's something to worry about!
I had about 7 charts to show my Dr at my annual appointment.
I think you should have a few charts with a short LP; short being less than 10, so your Dr doesn't blow you off.

BFP Chart 2.0 - First cycle trying without RE intervention!
Mine has consistently been 10 DPO (well, for 2 cycles trying & I tested and got a bfp on day 10 as well).
After the ectopic, at the follow up I brought this up to my doc & asked a)if it could in some way be related to the interstitial ectopic or b)if it was a problem/should I start B6?
My doc felt a 10 day LP wasn't anything to jump at immediately unless we had further reason to suspect it causing problems; he pointed out that he's had plenty women with such short LPs have healthy, normal pregnancies. He did say that it's *possible* it could be a problem- he just thought it was unlikely.
I say bring it up to your doc. The worst that happens? You pay a copay for the peace of mind to know your doctor doesn't think it's a concern or agrees with whatever you want to do...
PS- sorry about the onset of CD1

Thanks, punky! I was worried about that, too. I want my doctor to take me seriously with things like this.

My LP was short this last month and I called my Dr and I was told to chart again and make sure it was not a fluke. This was my first month charting so other than knowing the number of days my cycle was I was in the dark. I am lucky to have a doctor now who understands charting and charted herself.
