Mini Van Owners - Poll (non-clicky)

between adding another carseat and a limited trunk space for a double stroller, it looks like we in the market for a minivan (especially with ds1's high school football gear).

 which one do you have?

Re: Mini Van Owners - Poll (non-clicky)

  • Dodge Grand Caravan ---- we have our double stroller in it:)   We fold down 1/3 of the back seat and put it there.  That way, we still have most of the trunk!!!

  • We don't have one, but are also looking at them for the same reasons.  We really like the Dodge Caravan.  It has a lot of great features and seems to have a lot of space.  Also, to me, it didn't look quite as dorky as most minivans.  :)

lol!  That's why we got!    Actually, the price is probably why we got it.... we got a lot of 'fun' features in it (touch screen, 30GB hard drive for music, etc) for a decent price.     We got black...it's sneaky.

lol, we'll check it out.. thanks!

  • DH actually went to go trade our car in this morning. He refuses to be a mini van owner though, so he is getting a Ford Edge. They are actually very nice looking. LOVE the interior. But it doesn't have the full on mini van look.

  • We don't own a minivan, but the amount of space in our Ford Explorer is insane - we have the Explorer Limited with the third row seats.  The backseat is really roomy and then when you fold down the third row, tons of storage space is available.

  • Lurking from 2nd tri but we have a Toyota Sienna and love it!

Ours has 7 seats plus a jump seat that goes between 2nd row buckets so when we need it we can seat 8. They had a special on the entry level 2011 so our is cloth (which scares me some) but all of them come with a backup camera standard which Rocks!

  • We just traded in DH's Dodge Ram 1500 for a Dodge Grand Caravan like 3 weeks ago. I hated driving the truck and the double stroller doesn't fit in my VW Rabbit :( I never thought I'd be a "van" person but it's actually a pretty cool vehicle considering. We got ours fully loaded with the stow n' go and DVD player and all the extras. Both DH and I still play competitive hockey and a variety of other sports so we needed a vehicle that was going to allow for lots if sports gear, double stroller and the twins. No SUV seemed to have quite enough room for all that. Mini van it was. Nothing says cool like rocking out to Motley Crue in a black Dodge Grand Caravan :( but it's not about us anymore.

  • Honda Odyssey, and we adore it.  Absolutely nothing to complain about it!
  • We have a Dodge Grand Caravan.  I LOVE IT!

    Things I love about it:

Stow-n-go seats - you can just put all of the back 5 seats right into the floorboard and make any configuration you want.  Much better than having to remove the seat and store it somewhere.  This has come in handy with moving (put all seats down - had a truck bed basically), vacations (putting down the entire back row and having tons of space for bags), and just everyday when we are out.

Power sliding doors/hatch - you can just push a button and open the doors.  This is so nice because I don't have to worry about hitting other cars, smashed fingers, etc.  When I am carrying stuff it makes things so nice.

Drives like a car - you get great gas mileage and it drives like a car instead of a truck.  It's really smooth.

Low to the ground - easy for kids to get in and out and will be helpful when putting carseats and strollers in.
