BF issues with latch

I'm now seeing a LC which is great! I saw her yesterday and that short visit did help. He isn't sucking directly on my nipples and she correct my positioning BUT he still is doing something wrong!!!!! One thing we know he is doing is not opening wide enough. So I have to quickly get my breast in before he closes up. I have been back to nursing him for 12 hours and again my one nipple is very sore. Rather than on top it is now sore on the bottom of the nipple. I don't see any visible cracks but they are very very sore. HELP!!! How do I get my little one to open a lot wider???? I'm going back to the LC tomorrow. i'm getting so desperate. I really don't want to stop BFing but he's hurting me so much. Not as much pain than when I first started but nevertheless its still painful!

One thing the LCs have me do is gently pull down on his chin while pulling him in close to me when he's latched on improperly. It makes him open his mouth a bit more.

I was thinking the same thing..

Also- you can kind of "tease" him with your nipple. Like run it up and down his lips- that's when my LO open really wide b;c she wants to nurse so bad. Sometimes I even fix her while she's on a little bit.

I had the same problem, and I was getting so frustrated. I ended up just waiting for it. She will open her mouth, and I just have to be patient. This is my first time, so I don't know if it will work for you...
