Grr, selfish people

MIL posted on her FB status that she couldn't wait one more day, much less another week to see his sweet baby face. I asked her not to put things on facebook about him as a safety precaution, but she wasn't "specific" about who she meant so I guess thats okay.

Anyways, one of her friends responds, "Hopefully **his name*** will make an early appearance!"

Okay, this pisses me off. I DO NOT want him to make an early appearance, he has still got at least a week, leave him alone, and don't hope for things like that. I'm sure the lady didn't know we weren't putting things on facebook about him, but I still don't like that she used his name. I kinda want to ask MIL to remove that.

  • When I was 35 weeks, my mom kept telling me she was hoping and praying that the baby would come any day. I was like "woman are you BSC? He needs to stay in there and cook for at LEAST 3 more weeks!" And then a girl at her church who was due the same day as me had her baby a couple of days later and it had to go to nicu for 2 weeks for underdeveloped lungs. That shut her up.

I started having people tell me "Well, its any day now!" around 33 weeks and I would kinda pissed off and say, "Well, not really. LO and I have a deal that he's gonna be my October baby."

I said (with a straight face) to one lady and told her I stuck a toothpick in him and he was still a little soggy in the middle, so he's not done baking. She just kinda looked at me oddly.

  • I'd ask her to remove it due to the name.  I'd be really surprised if your MIL is upset by the request.

  • I went ahead and asked her to remove it and I told her why. I kinda asked her to help me keep an eye out for future things like that. I have no idea if I'm over paranoid or what.

  • Nope, my status for yesterday was that while the kid was gonna show up sometime in the next few weeks, I would not be posting any info on FB, so if anyone wanted details or pics, they should PM me with their email.

  • This is one of the reasons I got rid of facebook. You cannot control what other people put out onto the internet. My SO is in the military and they have briefed the families many times about not putting up pictures of your children or posting when or where people are deployed. It is out of my control and makes me upset so I'd rather turn a blind eye and not even bother with facebook. My grandma is the worst facebook offender in the world...
