  I don't know but it might be worth asking.  They honored my coupon like that even though it was like 5 months expired (i got it with my first pregnancy that ended in miscarriage).  Also, they didn't even check my registry to honor the diaper genie coupon. They just handed over the giftcard.

  I used the $25 gift card coupon after I had already started my registry and they still gave it to me.  You just have to ask.

  I don't know if they'll take it, but if they won't, seems like it'd be worth it to me to close the registry and start a "new" one.

  This happened to me.  I just went in, told them I'd like to redeem it for starting my registry, and they gave it to me.  No questions asked.
