So I tried again tonight to start the BRU registry, and for the second time it told me it was "temporarily unavailable". DH said it is a sign that it is too early. I also saw a cute little snowsuit/bag that I thought about getting, since it seems perfect for ease of bringing LO from house to car in the cold, without taking to long to strip off or put on. I didn't get it 'cause I knew DH would comment.
But he won't tell me when it is time to start buying things... maybe after the u/s one Oct 15...
Re: DH won't let me buy stuff!!
Well... we actually have a used bassinet and I have a variety of cloth diapers on the way. So I am being a bit of a sook for no reason...
Really we have to get the nursery started... since right now buying stuff just means cluttering up a spare room.
And if a good deal comes along... I am not missing it... so I will keep stalking Sears, BRU and the local classifieds.
I can see DH telling me not to buy something now lol. That wouldn't go over well, I'd do it anyway.
I already have a stroller, car seat, and pack n play. Plus several gender netural sleepers bought on clearance.
It would be a lose-lose situation with my DH lol. He would just lose everytime he told me to stop.
I wear the pants in this family, so if he told me that, I'd do it anyway or convince him. I mean, you are just starting a registry right..that doesn't mean you are buying things?
I already bought a carseat, stroller, diaper genie, boppy, and sheets/blankets on sale.
This plus a crib!
Whew...I thought I was ahead of the game. It is good to hear that some of you plan ahead as much as I do. I already have a travel system, a changer/dresser combo, my registries are set-up, and I just ordered the crib about 20 minutes ago. My mom on the other hand is a seamstress and she has several items of each gender ready to go.
My DH knows better than to question my spending. Before me he was lost in his own expenses. So take charge!
Rachel and Jeff Married 5.29.05
Jason is 8
Elizabeth is 6
Katherine is 18 months
Well... see my post tonight...lol.
He actually wasn't "forbidding me" from buying things, it is more that he gives me a hard time because to him it is so early.
I would rather break up the purchases over time, so it is good that he weighs in, or I would have everything bought and have to spend the next few months paying it off, instead of buying it over the next few months (much more sensible financially).
I am just a crazy planner, so now that we know what crib, dresser, car seat, etc we want, I want it now now now.
