Trying to Get Pregnant

Confusion

I seem to be a bit confused today.

Today my temperature shot up so I'm guessing (and I know I won't know for sure until it stays up for 3 consecutive days) that I ovulated yesterday. My cycles are usually between 26-28 days so that would make sense. Yesterday I took 3 OPK's and all were very close to being positive but not quite. This morning I took one and the test line was right away darker than the control line, so it was 100% positive. Also, I usually have a ton of EWCM. This month I only had some yesterday. I haven't noticed any EWCM today yet. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Confusion

  • The OPK predicts that you may ovulate in the next 12 to 36 hours.  Thus, a temp spike before the +OPK means you probably haven't ovulated yet.

  • That's why I was so confused. I just saw the temp spike and was like WOW that is a HUGE jump. I just thought maybe you could get positives even after you ovulate. Thanks! Big Smile

I just read that "I know this is the trying to get pregnant board but.." and saw your post. You are great!

Temp spike overrules OPK any day of the week.

Hopefully it stays up for the next few days. Thanks!
