Nipple cream!

Can you recommend your nipple cream? It's one of the last things I need to buy, but the stores I've been going to only have Lansinoh in a 2oz tube. I was hoping to get a bigger tube, unless it lasts a long time (don't know, never used it before).

So, what's your favorite brand, and why?

Re: Nipple cream!

  • After using both Medela and Lansinoh nipple creams, I liked the Medela better.  It was a tad easier to rub on.

  • You only need a very small amount.  The 2oz tube should last a very long time.
  • Medela is way better- easier to apply. The Lansinoh is really thick and sticky.

My super fave is "tough titties"... my mom found it online. :)

  • I don't remember what brand I had back when I had my first dd 5 years ago, but I have to say LittleApple, your daughter is SOOOOOO cute!

  • I love how you used an exclamation point in the thread title, like, "OMG!  I'm so excited about nipple cream!" :)

I found that rubbing a little expressed BM into my nipples and then letting them air dry worked FAR better than any nipple cream.  If I were you, I'd just usevarious smaples until your milk comes in, and then just use expressed BM.

  • Thanks everyone for the advice! I haven't tried any yet, and haven't gotten any samples even though I've signed up for just about everything basically to get samples (all I've received are coupons... oh well).

I'll probably try the Medela brand, but I do like scoutkate's suggestion of using BM. I'll be trying that, too!

And also, I was excited about nipple cream! I had a bit of insomnia, and when that happens, I get very hyper. Happens once or twice a year, but way more since I got pregnant. Maybe I can use my excess energy to actually nest today! :D
