hi all! Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I'm being optomistic starting on this board rather than the TTTC board. I'm 31, been married for 4 years together for almost 9, and have PCOS. I've worked very hard at managing some previous medical conditions, so that I no longer have to take any perscription drugs, and having been off of them for 4 months we are now ready to get pregnant. I'm hopeful all will go well, but am also terified that I waited to late to get started. I actually had a fertility specialist get on to me for "waiting so long" I thaught i was being responsible for finishing my masters and getting finacialy secure, but she didn't see it that way. She esentially told me I ruined my chances of getting pregnant. Se made me terribly angry and I found a new doctor, but I still hear her voice in my head. Anyway sorry this is so long, but we just moved and I don't have any girlfriends yet to talk to. So I was hoping to find ladies I could share with, comiserate with, and hopefuly a few friends. Thanks for reading all of this!

    Hi there!  Okay first, I'm glad you got a new Dr., I can't belive what your old one told you, what a biotch!  I'm going to be 31 in December and trust me honey, we are NOT too old to be mommies.  Congrats to you on being responsible and waiting to be secure prior to having children.  It's no cheap ride lol.  GL!

    I am 31 an just started TTC this cycle. I spoke to my Dr. 6 months ago about our plans to start and he never gave me a hard time about my age, in fact he said not to worry about it, it was not a problem. Everything I have read since then confirms what he said. I am glad you found a new doctor and wish you luck.

    I'm so sorry you had to hear such unhelpful advice from your previous doctor.  I just turned 31 in August, and I would have been crushed to hear that.  Welcome to the board...check out the newbie link in my siggy!

    This exactly. I'm 32 and DH and I just started TTC and the doctor told me that as long as I'm healthy I have many more years to go. Just because you have PCOS doesn't give him/her the right to make you feel guilty for making sure that you can provide a solid foundation for you and your family. I'm glad you have a new doctor. Wecome to the board! :)

    Welcome to the board! I'm glad you found a new doctor; I want to kick your previous one. You are NOT too old!!

    I understand wanting to have ladies to share with. I moved as well, and I don't really have people to talk to about all of this. I think you will really enjoy that ladies on this board. They're great! :)
