3rd Trimester

Ask me anything!

I have a 3.5 year old and an (almost) 8 month old. So I know everything there is to know about babies! Ask me what you want to know!

OK, I don't know everything. Not even close. Seriously, though, pick my brain. I'm bored and would like to bump myself up to Silver Status because I am a loser like that.

I'm a FT working mom of 2 kids. I had vaginal deliveries with both. DS was induced, DD was not. Epis with both. Both were FF (I didn't even try to BF) and both wore/wear 'sposie diapers.

I'm happy to answer any questions. Or, if you want to flame me for something random, that's cool, too. Wink Like I said, I'm bored out of my skull.

Big Smile

Re: Ask me anything!

  • How long after you lost your MP did you go in labor?

What did it look like? A picture would be helpful.

    Do you think I dropped?

If yes, will I have my baby tomorrow?

  • When you were induced: did you ask to be? were you past your due date? how long after your due date would they have waited?

  • What did you pack in your hospital bag?

Why are you bored? I thought your board was the drama board? Or has that died down lately? (Did I spell each bored/board right?)

What is your favorite 4-syllable word? Mine's 'Metropolis'.

Yes, I asked. I was already burning up my meternity leave that I had started a week prior to my EDD because I was sure I would go into labor before my EDD. Well, I didn't. I also hadn't done a lot of the research so I didn't know that it increased my risk of a C-Section, etc.

I was 2 cm dilated when I was induced but fully effaced. I was induced 2 days before my EDD. They would have waited until 42 weeks.

I had the epi but they wouldn't give it to me until I was at 4 cm (times have changed a lot, if you have to be induced they may offer you the epi right away now) and I can tell you that pitocin contractions are 1000 times worse than natural contractions.

-6 hours. (I went into labor first)

I didn't take a picture...it slipped down the drain. But do a Google search...

    Yes.

    Yes.

I'm an overpacker. So, I even brought a hair dryer and a flat iron in case I felt like doing my hair. I did this with both babies. What an idiot.

6-9 has NO drama tonight. And yes, you spelled it right.

4 syllable word...Liliana. Oh, you like that, don't you?

This is fun. I'm such a narcissist. (I'm sure I spelled that wrong.)

Thanks. My family is flying in 3 days after my EDD and I am hoping LO decides to show up by then... otherwise induction would be something I will consider asking for.

No prob. I can tell you that the more favorable your cervix is, the more likely the induction is to "take" but that's not always a hard and fast rule. (There are some girls on the baby boards that can attest to that.)

    Good luck! Smile

    Does your vagina still hurt?

Is sex like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

    No.

And, hell no. Two babies (one 7lb 13oz and one 8lb 15oz) later and I'm as tight as the day I lost my virginity.  Wink

There is an epidemic of pregnant women breaking out on 6-9. It really is very scary! There is no vaccine against it so our only guess is it must be our community water. So of course we have to remind ourselves in our siggys daily to not drink the water!
