So. I POAS on Friday night and BFP- it was not a faint line. I go through my Bump archives and find that I am freaked out because H and I had unprotected sex Sept. 5th. I don't remember when my period started but I know I was ON my period August 25th, because I remember being bummed about being on my period for my birthday. So based on that really roundabout estimate, I guessed myself to be due toward the end of May. I went to the doc today and he saw a sac on ultrasound. Then he tells me I'm around 3/4 weeks pregnant. Now, this doesn't make sense to me. I doubt I would have gotten such a clear BFP on Friday if I was only 3 weeks now. You know? Plus combined with the way I'm feeling, I really feel beyond 4 weeks. I'm thinking I may even be further than my ticker. If we had unprotected sex on the 5th, that means the latest it could have implanted was the 10th, right? Or am I wrong? Although I do recall cramping a tiny bit and spotting around two weeks ago. I would ask in first tri but I really don't want to. I like y'all better. So, what gives? Any explanation? I guess I'm concerned that maybe lo isn't growing right? Or maybe my doctor is wrong? But he has been pretty right with Simon in the past, so I feel like he's reliable. I don't know. Sorry, on my phone.

Your fears are completely unfounded. I'm sure SB#2 will be just fine...

Based on your LMP you should be right around what your ticker says. Did your dr know when your LMP was? maybe he couldn't see well enough because he didn't use the penis wand of doom.
When you get your internal the numbers will all make sense. But if you think about it, your last period was the end of august. That is usually when they calculate from. So that would make you about 4 weeks, even though sep 5 was the day it all happened. does that make any sense?
ETA: I meant a little over 4 weeks....

I always called it the dildocam.
You said the doctor couldn't date the pregnancy though from the abdomen right? I remember them telling me that the vaginal u/s is way more acurate early in the game.
Oh and I was 5 weeks 6 days when I had to go to the ER for bleeding and had a vag u/s and there was no heartbeat. It showed on my 9 week u/s though and check out the siggy : )
I really hope it turns out well for you guys. How do you feeling about it?

No h/b yet tells me that they're probably right...you can't see it until 6-7 weeks. When they do the repeat they'll confirm the size/age.
I got my BFP at 10 DPO with both my kids. That would make me, what, just over 3 weeks? It's possible! Tests are so sensitive now!
This sounds right. I had bleeding at 7 weeks with Nate and got the (as Ab so eloquently put it) the "dildocam" and they saw a h/b there. I had an external/abdomen u/s at 6 weeks-ish with Lily and they saw a h/b.
As well as you avoided that thing, you might of wanted to use it, HA! I am sure everythings fine and right on track, try not to over think or over worry.
AND good call on not posting this on 1st tri, wow those ladies are cah-ra-zy. Now I remember why I didn't start posting until 2nd tri.

Possibly an UO - I preferred the dildocam over a regular u/s. I had 3 of them and chose that vs. a regular u/s.
Anyway, I O'd late, so I should have been 7w2d according to LMP, but was only 4w5d according to the u/s. We saw a sac and fetal pole. They did a f/u u/s 6 days later and found 8 days worth of growth. I had another u/s a little while later and was still on track.
Basically, just follow the u/s, especially that early on. If you're just curious, that's one thing, but don't worry about your baby not growing right. I'm sure everything is fine!

I had an abdominal u/s around 5 weeks and they just saw a sac, no hb. They told me that I was off by a few weeks, which didnt seem right to me with my LMP and when I O'd.
I had my OB apt 3 weeks later at 8 weeks and was right on track with my LMP and O date. I saw the baby and the heartbeat, and that was a transvaginal u/s.
You and that little bean are fine!
This. See Ana's and my comments above about the dildocam and h/bs at 5 and 7 weeks (respectively).
I am so disappointed that I never had a dildocam!
SB I am super surprised he even saw anything that early on with an abdominal U/S. Everything is fine!
I got Snuggle's BFP when I was 3 weeks along. It appeared VERY quickly and VERY clearly on the test. The MFM gave me an approx. age, then adjusted it at the next appt (he was off by a few days). I suspect at your next appt when LO is bigger they can be more precise.
