Trying to Get Pregnant

I hate OPK's.

I really really do. I purchased the expensive ones..before I knew about Amazon. Never ever got a true positive. Just for kicks, and because the bag was only good for 30 days, I took one today and there is no way  I had an LH surge today, I am expecting AF in about 4 days, yet it is the only time the line has ever been as dark as the control. Nice. (also took an HPT = BFN)

I have not been temping because I am working a mix of shifts, 2 nights, and 3 days, and my temps are all over the place and make no sense what so ever. Next month I start in my permanent position on a day shift so I will start temping again then.

Re: I hate OPK's.

  • you're not alone. I hate them. the one I took today had parts of the line that were as dark as the control. The whole thing, though, not so much. ugh. I also, just for kicks, used one of a different brand that I got from walgreens tonight. It was even more negative. I don't have any ICs left :( Come on walgreens 'answer' brand, get on the same page as my ICs!

I had that too! Earlier this month parts of the line were dark and parts were flat out missing! My amazon order is on its way, along with the butt load of HPT'sSmile

  • Hi! I'm a newbie (well, to posting at least), but had to chime in because I was just emailing a friend today saying how much I hated OPKs. The line never got darker and then bam I had a temp spike. There has to be a better way to figure this out.
  • ugh! why do they have to be so frustrating. I think they should change opks so that they work the same way as hpts. A line would be a line and that would be the end of the story. And this should be available as an IC.

  • You can easily miss the surge.  I POAS yesterday morning...nothing.  Then on a whim I did again at 10 pm and BINGO...darker line.  This morning it was back to BFN.  Luckily I was having a lot of EWCM that clued me in a little bit as well. GL!

  • What they really need to do is make refills for the CBE digital OPKs so they're not so freaking expensive. That smiley face was so reassuring, but I just couldn't justify spending so much every month when my O date can be all over the place.

  • They certainly can be confusing. If I didn't check CM, I would be lost since my OPK's aren't positive until the day I ovulate. I only get EWCM 3 to 5 days before O.
