Anybody have a good rec for an eco-friendly, healthy mattress (king size)? We need to replace ours, and don't want to buy anything too toxic, especially since LO sleeps with us. TIA!

This latex one from Ikea is a steal compared to what we would've paid elsewhere, & we actually found it to be more comfortable. This one is full latex but doesn't have the organic cotton cover. We've been sleeping on ours for 7 months now & love, love, love it. The latex is dust mite free (I have horrible dust mite allergies), plus the lack of springs means less transfer when people move in the bed. I can't feel DH move at all. Ari isn't woken up by us anymore either. I brag on our Ikea mattress all the time.
One of the great things about the Ikea mattresses is that they don't use the same flame retardent chemicals that most mattress manufacturers use - they are required by law to use flame retardent but they use a much less toxic type. I can't remember all the details but I researched this pretty heavily. Most "latex" mattresses actually have very little latex & are mostly memory foam, which is a petro chemical & outgasses a lot. Plus you tend to sink into memory foam & I was concerned about the safety of that with co-sleeping.
