hey, we are starting to try for baby #2 and i am just wondering if i will know right away when i am pg, since i know the signs better than the 1st time? what was your experience? thanks
I did kind of "know"---and then would start to doubt--but then I got a horrible migraine which I never have---and was feeling weird---but still wasn't sure--tested negative---negative--negative---forever---and then I had the one symptom I clearly recall from my pregnancy with DS and tested--and there it was!!!
I just knew I was pg this 2nd time about 1 week before AF was due. Don't know why. We were on vacation with friends that weekend before and on Sunday i couldn't drink vodka any more. I got really sick from one sip. I was positive I was then. AF was due Tues. I tested Monday and BFP.
Nope, I didn't have any idea that was the month. After 5-6 months of bfns I was just kind of like 'whatever, it's fathers day, I'll pee on this test just in case' 30 seconds later, voila!
We were NOT TTC, but I did know right away despite that. I had all the same symptoms, feeling bloated and gassy, weird pulling sensations down there, especially when I would get out of the car. Boobs were big and sore. Exactly the same as with DS.
I think when you are TTC, you are naturally more aware of those types of things. We weren't TTC, but we had a mishap and thought I might have been ovulating when it happened, so I was super aware. I think having been through it once before, you do kinda know!
Pregnancy #2 (ended in m/c) I was on the minipill and BF 8-10 times a day so I wasn't looking for signs but one day DH, DD and I were goofing around on the floor and I got a whiff of myself and thought "Damn, did I forget deodorant? No... oh sh!t I better POAS." That was my most irritating pregnancy symptom- needing deodorant 3-4 times a day!!
Pregnancy with the twins- about 4 weeks after m/c, I didn't have a clue, but I was at DD's 12 month appt and the doc asked if I planned on weaning, and I told her "no, well, I guess maybe if I get pregnant again." I thought that was a weird thing to say out of the blue, and so picked up a HPT on the way home and it was positive.
I think TTC sensitivity is double -edged; you may be more attuned, but I think more prone to misread signs. Good luck!

I got a BFP at 3 weeks, 2 days preg- I had a let-down feeling in my breasts that I hadn't felt since weaning DS1! So I tested and it was positive, obviously!
