Dylan has been out of sorts for the last couple of days. I actually posted yesterday about how much he'd been sleeping. This afternoon he woke up from a nap with the goopiest eye I have ever seen! I kept wiping it and more and more yuck kept stringing out. I'll cal the pedi tomorrow, but WDYT?

Re: Goopy eye?
One thing Pedi's look for when you go in for a virus, is a goopy/crusty eye. Doesn't have to be pink eye, if he's been sleeping he might be coming down with a virus.
DS always starts with a goopy eye before a cold. Always can call and ask a nurse.
This is what I'm wondering, but his eye isn't pink/red just goopy.
They start to think Pink eye when the eyeBALL itself is red, that means infection. Could be clogged tear duct, try massaging the corner of the eye with a warm washcloth or cotton ball.
Honestly there isn't much they can do if it isn't pink eye.
Yeah, I'll let you know what they say when I talk to them tomorrow, for sure. I dread having to put drops in his eye, I highly doubt he'll be down with that in any way! Ugh! Sorry to hear that your little guy is having problems, too. Poor babies.
This may make me sound stupid, but if it were a clogged tear duct, does that mean the tears wouldn't be able to flow out?
It means that the tears can't drain (to put it simply) so they get runny eyes, goopy, and yellow crusty.
DS had clogged tear ducts since 3 weeks old, he then would get pink eye ontop of it (twice) we used drops, and surprisingly he did really well with them. However the drops didn't clear up the clogged tear duct.
