My husband and I have been talking about having a second baby since ours is 2.  I have the Mirena IUD and I was wondering if anyone has had it taken out and how long it took you to get pregnant after it.  I have read that there is an 80% chance of getting pregnant in the first 12 months so I was trying to poll and see.  I have a doctors appointment in December and was thinking about telling my doctor that I wanted to take it out. Any help would be nice.

    I had my Mirena removed in July. This is now our second cycle TTC and I finally feel like my cycle is back to normal. It may take a while. My doctor told me it may take up to 6 months for my cycle to become regular again. I would post this on the first tri boards to see what they say since most of us are not actually pregnant yet.

    I had it taken out in early August. Got my first AF within 2 weeks. I am on my 2nd cycle now. No pregnancy yet!!

    I had Mirena for 3 years and the first period was like hemmorhaging!  I bled through tampons in 2 hours (which before, I was like a 4-5 hour girl), but the next one was normal, and now I won't have a third one :)

    I had my mirena for a year and 4 months. Got it removed on aug 2nd. I was in the middle of a period when I got it removed. I did not have another period until 55 days later. Like the previous poster My second period was pretty bad. For two days I went thru so many tampons. Not my norm prior to Mirena. So hopefully things are getting back to normal now. Getting it removed was not bad. Just a little cramp right afterwards. Def ask people on the 1st tri... You will get a better poll answer.
