so i am still wearing mine and i they are not hurting me. I am sure i can get them off some time in the next few weeks - its all about the right day of not being swollen. I would like to leave them on but am worried that at the hospital they are going to make me take them off. that will clearly not be the right time to try and get them off i am sure i will be anxious enough that day and dont want to have them cut.
so the question is should i work to get them off between now and then or will they leave it alone and let me keep them on?
Re: wedding rings
Mine were fine until about a week ago when suddenly they started cutting off the circulation. I probably should have taken them off sooner before it became an issue but like you, I was waiting since everything was fine so far. But it creeps up quick (fingers getting really swollen) and then you either have to hurt/squeeze your finger really bad to get it off or have it cut off your finger. My finger was turning white around the ring because literally overnight (or so it seemed to me) my finger got super swollen.
So, I'd take off now! I'm wearing a cheap, loose ring on my ring finger in the meantime.
when your right your right....
just took them off - it hurt glad i did it now...
i have a cheap set that i will start wearing tomorrow they are plenty big.
I can't even get my e-ring on anymore. My eternity band still slides off and on, but if it gets tight to where I have to force it off, it's going on a chain around my neck.
I would leave jewelry at home when you go to the hospital, regardless if they fit or not.
I took off my rings the other day because my hands were so swollen, and since then I've felt really weird.
Does anyone else feel like people are more judgemental when you're walking around OBVIOUSLY pregnant without a ring? I realize sooooooo many people have babies out of wedlock, even by choice, and it's not a big deal, but it seems like people have gone from "AAAAW, CONGRATULATIONS!!!" to funny looks...
Take them off before you go. They will make you take them off if you have surgery. Also, I was given lots of fluids thru IV (in an attempt to stop PTL), and I swelled sooooooo much and stayed swollen for a week after I delivered.
ETA: Mine still fit now and slide on and off just fine, but they aren't comfortable. I put them on when I leave the house, but I don't wear them any other time.
I took mine off early on during my 2nd tri, I didn't want to take the chance of having it cut off.
I'm due today. My fingers never got swollen. I give my ring a tug every few days to see if it'll come off. If it does, I don't worry about it. (Haven't even broken out the Windex.)
I plan to take them off before I leave for the hospital though.
