newborn pic help

hi ladies i was looking into newborn pic props like knitted hats, blankets and a cocoon but everywhere i look for them they seem to be pretty expensive, any suggestions on where to find them cheaper? i've thought of making them myself but i dont know how to knit, is it hard to learn?

    I knit at an "intermediate" level (thats the hardest patterns I can do), and the only knitting patterns I've seen for those hats are expert ones. I'd say etsy would be your best bet, I've seen some for $15-32. Are you using a prof. newborn photographer? They might have one already?

    Ask your photographer if she already has props. Mine has both the hat and cocoon plus many other cute little things=)

    You might check with your hospital what they give you.  My hospital is going to give us little knit hats that were knit by volunteers in the auxiliary.  They are really cute and free.

    Check with your local knit shop.  I'm an avid knitter. I know the shop I frequent sometimes gets calls.  There's always someone on hand that is willing to make something like that for a minimal fee.  Worth a try!
