update: last night's sleep

We took away the pacifier last night (posted about it below in my Ferber thread). She cried for about 5 minutes when we put her down (checked on her at 3 min, then 2 min later she was out). And she basically slept for 10.5 hours! She was up twice, once coughing (she has a cold) and once for a split second of crying, but she put herself back to sleep right away, so I don't even want to count these as real wakeups. Success!

Now, we did take away the paci one before and had some success but then in a moment of weakness, we gave it back to her for bedtime. So key lesson for me is to stay consistent this time!!

That's great! I hope she keeps it up.

We started Ferber about 2 weeks ago and Caroline has done great at going to sleep now (less than 30 seconds of crying last night) and a couple of nights has slept for 9 hour stretches, but most nights she still wakes up once or twice. I know it's the night nursing but I'm powerless to resist the thing that will make her go back to sleep when it is 3 AM.
