We were just in Germany on vacation and I just brought an Ergo and a ring sling to tote DS around in (our strollers are basically crap and wouldn't have done well on cobblestones).
Seemed like most of the women in Germany had these awesome prams/strollers (that must have been $$$). I did see a couple of people babywearing, but not many.
We were visiting an elderly relative and when I popped DS in the Ergo to leave she said, "Oh, you carry him, like in Africa."

I always have in my mind that Germany should be the land of babywearing since Didymos is based there (and several other companies) - guess not ;-)
