I took my daughter out in the Moby in public today. I walked to the comic book store down the street. That way I was able to get her wrapped up before hand and not have to worry about it. It was a big first step and I'm excited to wear her out more.
My only concern is she was kind of squirming a little and ended up sliding down. Any way to prevent this?

Re: First public BWing
DS didn't like being wrapped at all - could have been his preference or my lack of wrapping skills. He would squirm after 20 minutes and cry after about 30 minutes. I lost patience with wrapping and started using other carriers.
I found that he prefers a mei tai or ring sling much more. Now that he is a little bigger, he also likes the Ergo. He doesn't squirm at all in any of these carriers.
Start at the tag and work outwards in the same direction as tying it. Pull the front bit towards your armpit so you can pull it tighter over your shoulder. Repeat for the other side. Then support your LO and pull front and back rail tighter from your shoulder to your waist. Repeat for other side. Then pull the bits going around your waist to the tie tighter and finally, loosen the knot slightly and feed the extra fabric through.
Does any of that make sense? I'd probably recommend sitting on your bed or similar while doing it the first time. I'm sure LO won't fall out but ya know, disclaimers and all that
I can't comment on the slipping down thing as I have never tried a Moby, but yah on the first public outing.
I'm still building up the courage to try a public, back carry with my woven.
