I've had a yeast infection every month or two in the last several months. Right now, I have no infection, but we are treating my husband with Monistat now (yep, he loves that). Just as a precaution in case we are passing it back and forth. He has absolutely no symptoms of having one. Just doing due diligence. He's supposed to use the cream until Monday. (7 days)
I'm starting to get cramps, kind of like my typical O cramps. My OPK today was negative, but seemed a bit darker than my usual early cycle OPK's.
We've had NO sex this month yet. My cycles have been a little unpredictable, O'ing anywhere from CD20-CD37. I know it's only CD12, but what if I'm O'ing soon? I should be having sex, even if only every other day.
Argh! I don't know what to do. I don't think DH has a YI, and I totally don't want to blow this cycle!
WWYD??

Id have sex. But also, try eating 2 cups of yogurt with the 5 live active cultures in it a day. I eat Oikos Greek Yogurts (they are organic and come in several flavors). That really helped with YI's for me. They are a bit expensive, but worth it. You can buy the large tub of the plain yogurt too and just add in fruits to give it flavor.
GL, that sucks, but I think your probably safe to have sex so long as you want to.
ETA: make sure whatever kind of yogurt you get that it does have the live active cultures, otherwise it doesnt really help.
I'd have sex! If he has been using monistat for a few days, you should be okay, besides, you can use monistat while pregnant!
I had recurring YI years ago and we never figured out the cause. It could've been so many things. Getting pregnant actually cured them! TG! At least your OB is taking the precaution with you dh, mine didn't seem to think my dh (bf at the time) needed to be checked out.
I wondered if I was crazy for answering like this, but PP agreed. I'd throw caution to the wind and have sex, because who wants go through another 4+ weeks waiting to O AGAIN? You can deal with possibly but unlikely YI fallout next week.
Please keep in mind that I'm also someone who is not feeling particularly patient today with obstacles to having sex, so take this with a grain of salt.
I eat the Greek yogurt too. Love it. I'm also taking a potent probiotic, hoping that helps keep them away too.
Eat a serving of yogurt every day, take some cranberry pills, and hump it out! That's what I'd do anyway...
Also make sure you're drinking lots of water, avoid sugary drinks and candies, and acidy juices/fruits like oranges. At least until your YI clears up. I've always been prone to YI and these things can really aggravate me. I'm usually fine if I have yogurt everyday or at least 3 times a week as a preventative measure. Good thing I like yogurt!
