taking temp while you have your period??

Hi there,

 I'm new to all this, but heard that you don't temp while you are ahving your period.  Is this true??

    You can if you want to, personal choice. I don't though.

    I do, out of curiosity - but it generally doesn't help with indicating ovulation / pregnancy

    I don't think it matters...you can if you want.  It may make it easier to make taking your temp a habit.

    as with PP... personal choice.. if you find you O really early, it might be worth it...

    Testing - Me ok, gluten issue? DH - borderline count, low motility
    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d
    7/3, 7/31, 9/25 - IUI#2-4=BFN
    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d
    FET#1 3/2/12 - 2 blasts =BFP!! EDD 11/18/12, us#1 = twins! Confirmed m/c 5w6d
    4/20-surprise BFP and another c/p 4w2d
    FET#2 7/16/12 - 2 blasts = BFN
    FET#3 8/20/12 - 1 blast - BFP!! Beta #1-2=177, 354
    1st u/s 5w6d, one beautiful little HB :), 2nd u/s 146bpm

    You certainly don't have to but I do to keep in the habit. I'm also OCD and can't stand to have an "incomplete" chart.

    You don't have to, since you're clearly not pregnant when having your period. My temps are erratic through CD12, so that's when I start temping again.

    I do, but I think it's more out of habit than anything else.

    I think you can view it as the placebo pills when you're on BCP. You don't have to, but you stay in the habit.

    This!!! It drove me nuts when I lost my temp the other day and had to leave it blank, lol.
