19 kids and counting... (N-necessarily-APR)

I just watched a promo for the new episode and it made me a little sad. They've got Josie sitting in her bouncy seat staring at a computer to learn things. The mom was there cheering and clapping. Its just kind of a bummer i think. She's a premie so I feel like she should be held and interacted with more than that... I dunno. Maybe I'm just being judgey but it made me sad to see.

  • I agree that they should be interacted with more. I don't really know what a computer is going to teach them though :/

  • I wondered the same thing.  :(  Poor baby.  I guess when you have 19 kids you have to take some shortcuts.

  • I'm sure it's not an all the time thing... I mean all of her other children appear to be very well mannered, educated, and responsible.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'll have to see what actually happens in the episode before I make a judgment on it.

  • I saw it, too & was totally disturbed by it.  No idea, but my guess is it's the "My baby can read" program??
  • Eh, doesn't bother me. With all those siblings, I'm sure she gets tons of interaction.

  • I have seen a few episodes where Josie was parked in her carseat in the stroller and in the kitchen alone. The camera man was obviously there but it made me sad. The children do seem polite and happy. The parents do "blanket training" I haven't googled it yet but I picture them swatting a baby that doesn't stay on the blanket. I hope this isn't it. I will go google it now!
