Parenting after 35

And here we go...

DS started crying last night around 8:30 and was pretty inconsolable.  I figured it was due to his sinus infection and still not feeling well so made him a chaser bottle and came back into the room with it.  I turned around to put it down.  When I turned back around, he'd thrown his pacifier on the ground and had a sh!t eating grin on his face in anticipation of the bottle.  When he saw me looking at him, he immediately schooled his expression into a pathetic sad face.

Already playing the game.  I am torn between frustration at being played and pride in his native intelligence in working the system already.  I think I'm in trouble.

Re: And here we go...

  • Michael did it to us when he was less than 3 months old.  We were driving to Charleston, WV which is about 45 minutes from the house.  About halfway there he started fussing.  We pulled off the interstate and I went to get him out of the car seat.  He started smiling as soon as we got him out.  He was not wet or hungry, just tired of being in the car seat.  Little Turkey.

  • LOL.  Sorry for laughing.  These little suckers are manipulative though, ain't they?
