I agree that when I read birth stories and they're like "I got my epi
at 7-9 cm" I'm like WTF did you do THAT for? It's almost over!
and I'm really glad to read that caring for a newborn isn't all that
hard. I'm organized, prepared, and knowledgable (and have a brain), so I
already figured I would have an easier time than the usual woman.
I thought it was kinda boring. Maybe I'm just over it all. I remember thinking with my holier than thou attitude that Hank WOULD BE born naturally, and this, that and whatever else I was SO SURE of. It's all crap. Most of these women will be the first to admit they were one of "those" mothers and will be able to laugh at their own naivete...
At least I am... Am I giving them all too much credit?

This just makes me sad for this new batch of mothers....ugh.
I didn't read, but I can imagine. I thought I would be much better at this, since I worked on a pediatric unit. NOPE! I was WRONG! I know how to take care of sick kids, not healthy ones haha!

I think until they experience labor and know what goes into raising a newborn then they should really keep their opinions to themselves. Trying to stay as nice as possible with doing one of these,

holy crap I just peed a little. LMMFAO! Oh man....yeah sweetie, suuuuuuuure you will.
I couldn't make it past the first page. Biting my tongue so I don't jump in with the "just you wait" line. But really-I can't wait to see how those people react when they have to deliver a freakin sunny-side-up baby and the back labor feels like your body is being split in half.

Ahahahahahahahahaha!
omg, did she really write that? I guess every other mother out their is brainless which is the only reason why they would have a hard time. Or its due to getting an epi.

What the hell kind of comment is that? Is it horrible of me to wish that she gets to eat her words.

lol. I can't wait until she experiences transition.
I got mine at 7 cm.
Seriously. You have no idea what it's like until you go through it. I was 9cm when we finally got to the hospital, practically begging for an epidural. Of course there wasn't enough time for it, but omfg transition hurts, sweetheart!

Saturday night at a restaurant I was sipping on a glass of red wine. H
was getting beers off the mile-long beer list. I sampled a sip of each
of his beers. by the time I was 3/4 done with my glass of wine, I
realized I was feeling just a wee bit tipsy so I stopped drinking. go
ahead, Flame Me.

I got an epidural at 9cm. I might have been 10, but I told them I wanted the epi before they checked me (I definitely had no urge to push at that point). I had planned on an epi all along, and was surprised that I was doing just fine with labor so I decided to wait and see whether I really needed it. An epidural has risks, so why get it when you don't need it? At 9cm, I got back labor (ouch!!!!) and needed the epidural. I wouldn't have done it any other way. I'll do it again with my next if I don't need it until that point (or at all).

Oh, she's a winner, that one.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight....I've got all of that, and it still kicked my ass.
Also, what's their beef with double strollers? WTH do they think they're going to push their kids around in if they have two little ones and they are by themselves?

Yes, you are.
And 7cm is not close! We all know that, but I have to say I was at 7 for 3 hours before my epi then gave birth 5 hours later.

Exactly!

But ooooooohhhh there's over 95 responses...good lawdy!
At least the kiddo's are sleeping, I suppose this'll be my entertainment for the afternoon...if it IS entertaining...
I told them. lol.
Oh yea...I couldn't make it past the first page...
I wanted to throat punch the girl that said the crap about not needing narcotics or epidural. I hope she really REALLY needs one.
Dumb@sses. They shouldn't talk til they've been there.
Here is my favorite of the laughable opinions:

Has anyone read the go ahead and flame me thread?
Some girl drank enough to be tipsy and no one is flaming her.
Yep, that's the same chick who thinks newborn care will be a breeze because she has a brain.

I had a failed epidural and the contractions at 7 compared to 10 were a whole new ball game! Not to mention the non stop barfing while transitioning.
I can only imagine! I'm glad I didn't have to experience them at 10. I thought I was dying at 7.
Ahahahahahahahahaha!
