What is a good beef dish that would stay well in a chafing dish and could do well with the rest of the menu?
Nothing with a tomato sauce or chopped meat please
Here is the rest of the menu:
Antipasti: cold cut platter, variety of olives, cheeses, marinated mushrooms
Pastas- Rotini with tomato sauce, Penne al la vodka
Sides: couscous salad, garden salad, caprese salad, string beans, asparagus and maybe broccoli
Main: balsamic rosemary chicken pieces, roast pig, eggplant rollatini, sausage pepper & onions, paella.
Dessert: Event cake, Cookie Platters and mini cupcakes
TIA ladies!
Re: BOTB cooks, come in. Menu critique
Everything sounds delicious. What is this menu for?
How about hamburgers?
OMG. This is for the Christening?
I'm not sure how well it would work in a chafing dish, but what about beef tenderloin? If the chafing dish isn't too hot, it shouldn't over cook the tenderloin (I think).
And your menu sounds fabulous (even without the beef).
no veal- there are a few Anti-veal people in my family, mainly my mom.
maybe the roast, i can get a big prime rib at costco. im just scared it will over cook. the food is going to be dropped off (cooked) at the hall at 12, before the church. the party starts at 2.
I don't have any suggestion. But wow.
For Jude's baptism we did a cake from walmart, chips and dip, and a fruit tray.
The end.
We had 15 trays of food and a full sheet cake. Plus a DJ and an open bar. It was ridic.
That would be the difference between those crazy noreasterners and the south. :P
That's my kind of party.
i still have to get a DJ- any suggestions? im not doing open bar. ill have wine and beer. our families arent big liquor drinkers.
I guess so. Bless their hearts.
Hey! At least in NY we just flip the bird and say fvck off instead of the 'blessed' crap
