So I am new to this board, but have been on the knot/nest for a while. DH and I have a 3 year old, and are ttgp with baby #2.  The only problem is, my DH is active duty Army, and is deployed until December. We plan on trying around end of December when he gets back. Now my question is... when should i stop taking my bc? I obviously don't want to have my period when he's here and I want to make sure we get pregnant right away. Thanks in advance!

    There is no way you can guarantee this, but I would stop your BCP NOW & start charting. FF is what a lot of us use around here & the tutorials are REALLY helpful.

    DH is deploying (active duty Navy) in the spring and we have decided to wait until he comes home to start TTC our #1. I stopped taking my BCP this month...but I had been taking them for 9 years. In the mean time we are just going to use other methods of BC until he comes back home, but I want to give my body this time to adjust and get back to normal off of the pill. GL!
    TTC our first Navy baby! Me:27 DH:30, together since 8/2003, Married on 7/2006
    9/26/10 stopped BCP and started TTC.
    9/2011 referred to RE. All blood work normal and DH's SA=normal results
    11/2011 HSG=both tubes clear
    One natural (monitored) cycle of Clomid, 50mg 2/2012= BFN
    Getting ready for first IUI, 3/2012 received orders to Japan! (postponed IUI)
    5/2012 Moved to Japan, fought Tricare for months over referral (no fertility treatment on our military base) for Japanese RE out in town!
    8/2012 Started seeing new RE
    9/2012, post coital test= hostile cervical fluid, (finally) moving on with first IUI!
    9/29/2012 IUI #1+trigger= BFN
    10/27/2012 IUI #2+100mg Clomid CD5-9+trigger= BFN
    11/28/2012 IUI #3+100mg Clomid CD5-9+trigger= BFN
    12/28/2012 IUI#4+100mg Clomid CD5-9+trigger=BFN
    2/1/2013 IUI#5+injectables+trigger=BFN
    3/2013 IUI#6+injectables+trigger=???

    It can take up to a year for your body to regulate after coming off of the BCP.  I would get off the pill now and begin charting.  Good luck!

    This! You also have to consider it could take a few months for you to get AF when you come off BC. Stop BCP now IMO and start charting. Like PP said, go to fertilityfriend.com by clicking on any of our tickers and read up on all the lessons they have. Good luck!

    This. You can chart through FertilityFriend.com (click on any of our tickers to get there). They have helpful tutorials to go through that make the process easier to understand. Good luck! Smile

    By the way, I just have to say that this made me smile. If only it was that easy! Smile I never planned on being on my sixth cycle trying, and many women on this board have been trying for much longer than me. I learned pretty quickly that unprotected sex does not equal pregnancy, so just know that this process can take you much longer than you anticipate. Smile

    At least a month before you want to start trying since a lot of women don't O the month after they get off BC (so said my OB/GYN)

    I wish this could happen just like that! Unfortunately for me (and many others), it does take awhile. I will be starting my sixth cycle soon. Good luck to you, and hopefully it does happen quickly for you!
