Pregnant after a Loss

Tiniest spotting. Kinda freaked

This morning I spotting just a tiny bit, but it was red, not brown.

I have not spotted once this entire pregnancy, not even at the very beginning.

I have a cervical length u/s scheduled at 3:00 today and a check up tomorrow at 9:00.

I really just hope this doesn't mean I started dilating and lost a tiny bit of my MP or something.  Ahhh.  Was not prepared for a freak out this morning.

ETA: DH and I haven't had sex in FOREVER, so it's not that.  I attempted last night but I guess my outfit of gray sweats and his white v-neck t-shirt with holes in it didn't really turn him on.  Stick out tongue

Re: Tiniest spotting. Kinda freaked

  • As someone who hasn't spotted I'd be kinda freaked too.  Though I keep seeing how you can lose your MP in pieces for a while w/o it meaning anything so try to stay calm! Are you calling your OB or just waiting for the u/s?

  • From what I've heard, losing your mucus plug can start early and mean nothing. Could you some how have irritated your cervix?

I'm sure it is nothing, but I'm glad you got an u/s today regardless, maybe just ask them if they can see where it would be coming from.

  • Did you do anything different?  Perhaps have sex?  I remember that causing spotting once or twice at the end for me with my son.

  • I'm so glad you had appointments set up, so they could check on things. Hoping everything is okay.

You stay put baby, you've got some more growing to do.

  • Don't freak out too much. A tiny spot doesn't necessarily mean you've started dilating. I went from 0 to 5cm with absolutely no spotting at all. It's only been the past few days that I've had any spotting, and my OB wasn't worried about it.

I'm not saying you shouldn't worry. I'm glad you've already got an appt today. Just wanted to let you know it could just be nothing.

  • I think I'll call my OB if I spot any more this morning.  If that was it, then I'll just go to my u/s this afternoon and ask them to check it out.

Baby Joaquin is beating me up from the inside, so I'm pretty sure he's doing just fine in there.

  • I would freak out too but it's probably nothing to worry about.  I had some spotting recently and it ended up being a hemorrhoid. Embarrassed

It's a sad, sad day when we start hoping for a hemorrhoid.  LOL.

  • I had the exact same thing happen to me last week.  It was a very little amount (what was on the TP looked like the amount of blood that would come from a paper cut).  Luckily it stopped by the next time I went to the bathroom, but I still panicked a little bit!  I'm sure everything is just fine, but I'm glad you have an appointment today to ease your mind.

  • I would freak out too, but if it was just a tiny bit and you haven't had more since and you feel your LO, just say something at your appt today. If you do get more I would definetly call the OB!

I have lost part of my MP the past two weeks and I haven't had any blood tinge in it, some people do and some don't. Was it mucusy? Or just blood?

Sorry you had this happen :( It sucks.

  • Uggh, there should not be any spotting of any sort allowed if your pgal. I'm with the others, it's most likely nothing, but I'm glad you have an appt tomorrow anyway. As for it being a part of your mucous plug, was the spotting accompanied by CM? Or was it just red? Mucous plugs are really, really well, mucous-y.

It was just red - like normal spotting.  Not mucousy at all.  Hmmmmm....

  • I hope everything is ok!  I'm so glad you have an appointment already scheduled today so you can talk to your Dr. about what's going on!
  • Maybe he's pushing down and really irritating your cervix.  Either way, Not cool, Joaquin, Not cool.
  • Glad you have an appointment this afternoon.  I'm sure all is fine and things are just irritated in there. {hugs}
