Holy crap!! Do I have mutant CM? (maybe TMI, certainly kinda gross)

Um, so a strange thing happened to me last night when I checked my CM before turning in. I always check internally because I don't seem to produce much CM, and when I "retrieved my sample" there was a giant CM BLOB! And I don't mean that there was just a lot of CM, I mean that it was a soft, chunky, ever so slightly stretchy, translucent blob. I've never seen anything like that before and I'm really, really sorry if you're all throwing up in your mouths right now!

I've been taking EPO and drinking green tea everyday, so maybe that has something to do with it. I started thinking this morning that maybe it could've been a mucus plug? We have those before O, right? I'm hopefully approaching O, so maybe that's it. Again, sorry if this is way TMI- I never know what other people's threshold is.

Anyway, anyone else have experience with this?

If I find another one today and it starts talking to me, I'll let y'all know...

mucas plugs are there when you get KU... so you shouldn't have one of those yet. Also, sounds like you got some EWCM or almost EWCM! That may mean you are soon to O!

I don't consider it TMI or gross!!! One has to have an obsession with CM in order to get this job done.

I think you just saw EWCM. Start humping if you haven't already!

I get those big globs of EWCM right before I ovulate. I love when it's that obvious. I don't even have to check internally. Happy humping

lol that's a new one! I have never heard of having a mucous plug before O. It does sound like you may have found some EWCM though so congrats & happy humping! It is hump day afterall. Smile

You will have a mucus plug when you are pregnant, not before.

What you saw sounds like perfect EWCM, it just comes in blobs sometimes. This is the most fertile CM you can get, so to be on the safe side, I would start humping Smile

First of all, nothing is TMI around here. I wouldn't freak out. Secondly, it may be unusual for you to see a blob if you haven't before but it just means your body is working and that's good. If it is EWCM, stop bumping, grab DH and hop on the good foot and do the bad thing! :P

Update: I did a little more checking (Google) and apparently a mucus plug does form between O and CD1, but not before O- which makes sense as the whole point of a mucus plug is to keep bad stuff out of the ute.

And... I took my morning OPK and got a darker line than I did yesterday! I'm guessing and hoping that my afternoon OPK will be a full on positive. I caught it last month doing them 2x a day, so hopefully I will this time around, too.

At least DH and I started humping it out last night, so even if I did miss it today, we hopefully had decent timing last night. Thanks for the info ladies! EWCM has been so lacking (haven't seen hide nor hair) in past cycles that it didn't even occur to me that that's what it could be! lol

I started drinking green tea this cycle and I got a very noticeable increase in CM. I suspect that is what you are seeing too. Happy Humping!

I had that this cycle...first cycle off BCP after being on for 5 years. I hadn't had much CM on the pill, so I was a little surprised! Get humping girl!!

Tee hee! DH comes home for lunch everyday- let's just say I had food waiting and we are really fast! Wink
