Hells yes. I wrapped it and carried one of the zillion stuffed animals we got around in it. LOL

It doesnt' smell like plastic but I am guessing there must be sizing or something on it.

  • Mine just came in the mail on monday. I got the black organic one but it still has that "factory" smell and feel to it, so I think I'm gonna give it a quick wash. I've washed everything I could, including stuffed animals/toys and fabric books.

  • I don't have one but more than likely would wash it, if I did.

    I'll love you forever,
    I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

  • Hm.  I didn't think about that, but now that you mention it, I'm definitely going to.

  • I'm probably going to hand wash it because it is so long and skinny. I'm afraid that it would mess with the washer by wrapping around the agitator.

  • I washed mine.

    I did.

Do you use yours much? If so, is it pretty easy to get the hang of getting into quickly?

Your humungous purcahse form Jillians' Drawers, did you get their sample pack or just your own choice of CDs? If your own, what all did you get?

I did a lot of research and picked my own.

    I got:

15 Kissaluvs 0s, 15 chinese prefolds, 3 snappis, 8 thirsties duo wraps, 7 BG 4.0s, 5 Kissaluvs Marvels AIOs and 3 BG organic AIOs.

My plan is to use the KL0s and the prefolds until she is 15ish lbs. I will mix in the BGs and the Marvels to see which ones I like best and then buy more of whichever ones I want. I'll probably get another 15 or so after we know which we like best. I got both the BG 4.0 and BG Organic AIO b/c the 4.0s are fitted and the organic is AIO so I want to see if I really hate stuffing the pockets or if I don't mind. That way I will get more AIOs if I find the stuffing annoying.

The reason I got so many NB diapers is because we plan to have another kid while this one is still in diaps and I wanted to have enough in the NB size so they won't *need* to share at first so I can get used to 2 kids. :) Plus, hopefully, if we time it right the 1st one will be training by the time the 2nd one needs the bigger diaps. That is the plan anyway- hah we'll see!

ETA: I also got a Calendula Cream, 2 calmin diaper rash cream (safe for CDs), 3 butt sprays, and the sprayer. I spent $767 including shipping. Not too bad.

Ahh, you did buy a lot! I have a few Fuzzibuns and a couple BGs for now. Need to start getting more. I was thinking of doing her trial and seeing which work and which don't.

The only reason I'm not doing the trial is because I wanted to get the bulk of the spending out of the way before she comes. I know H would have a heart attack if I waited until she is born and then spent $1000 on diapers. :)

  • Pretty sure the packaging said to wash before using.
  • I'm washing mine, it stinks.

  • I'm washing everything except for the car seat padding (swing padding, etc.) before use.

To the PP who said it might get wrapped around the agitator -- it's no longer than a sheet.  If you're concerned put it in a mesh laundry bag, but mine was fine.

LOL Yes, I am glad you didn't drink it. I would put that under common sense fail!

    ::butting into the CD talk::

    HA! Get it? Butting in?

    Anywhoo...

I'm getting 12 Green Mountain Diaper Workhorses, 12 GMD pre-folds, and borrowing a ton of covers from a MM nestie, GreekyPie. She's lending me Thirsties, BG's covers and AIOs, and some other covers. After I sort through my borrowed stash, I'll probably buy a few more BG AIOs and covers (different brands) just to see what I like.

LOL you are so funny. That sounds like an awesome plan! I was really torn b/t the GMDWs and the KL0s. I decided to just order from JD b/c of their return policy.

Yeah, it's hard to decide b/w all the sites that offer packages, rentals, newborn packages, etc!

I was (and still am) pretty overwhelmed, but I've decided to make a decision and GO WITH IT.

    So, that's my call Smile

I think we'll only be CD'ing part time anyways once I go back to work, since the daycare wasn't too keen on CD's. Maybe I'll use my mat leave to stock up on more AIO's especially for day care and show them how easy it is? IDK...we'll see!

That was me yesterday. I had just had enough thinking about it and needed to check it off on the list so I just did it. hah :)

  • I am.  I like to wash cloth stuff before I wear it, and the baby's skin will be on it, so doubley so.

I'll "butt in" on the CD stash discussion too . . . I am using 1 pack of NB disposables until the meconium is gone and we have the hang of breastfeeding and a newborn and are ready to go cloth.  I have 24 indian prefolds with duowraps, prowrap NB, and some thirsties smalls and I'm using pins stuck in a bar of soap during NB-15 lbs stage.  Then I have a collection of 6 OS fuzzibuns (LOVE those) with snaps, and then some other odds and ends of other OS or 10-20 LB AIO so that I can try out a few different and see what I like best.  I'm thinking I'll probably just end up getting about 18 more fuzzibuns in the end because they are so soft, cute, AIO, and OS, but if I decide I want to use another AIO/OS then I can.

Oh, I am also going to start making little fleece liners for inside the diaps because I've heard it wicks away moisture.  Plus I can use remnants/scraps and it will be cheap and easy enough for this novice sewer to make.
