Consignment shops

Hi Ladies!

Anyone know of any good consignment shops?  I am in Bergen County, but I am willing to travel if it's worth it.

Thanks!

  • i know theres a huge consignment sale happening in oct 15 at the rartian cntr thats in edison
  • I got a flier last weekend for Mother's Market on Saturday, the 2nd at the Indian Lake Community Club, 91 East Shore Road, Denville, says it's a giant indoor sale of new and used bargains for babies and young children.  There's a $2.00 admission price that will be donated to ILCC (don't know what that is).

As far as consignments go I've just started using them with baby 3 and 4's clothes.  The first place I went to was Milk Money in Morristown.  Although the woman is very nice and the place is neat and orderly she took a month off in July and then had a bag sale where you shove as much stuff in the bag for a certain amount of money.  Because she was not there to sell all the VERY nice baby clothes and then gave a deal to the customers, I only made $20!  Not worth it to me.  I will however possible take bigger items there such as a high chair, because I know they'll be taken care of for resale.

Then I just took a TON of stuff for fall/winter to a place in Madison because my friend said it's very crowded, but she is always getting checks from that place, that they have a lot of traffic.  So, I went and was shocked by what a dump it was.  They had to walk over stuff to get from behind the counter.  It was jam packed.  She doesn't have a bag sale and donates whatever they don't put up to sell because of defects and she will store seasonal stuff for the next season if it's a good label and if she thinks it will sell (maybe she got it late in the season, etc.)  But had I known it was so jam packed, and messy I wouldn't have left my stuff there.  The bigger items looked a mess because they seem to be left outside so I wouldn't leave those things with her.  I'll see how it goes.

I'm going to check out a place in Pequannock that I heard is very nice and is neat and organized, set up like a boutique.  But that won't be until next season.  The thing is with switching places, I keep paying the fee to consign...
