Baby UTI - Advice please

I took DD to the docs last week cause she had been screaming all night for nights on end. I thought it was teeth, but took her just to be safe and got a call from the doc yesterday to say her results came back and she has a UTI. They want to put her on antibiotics, but she seems to be better now. The doc says its my call if I think she is better, but now I am worried cause I read that UTI's don't go away on their own. Does anyone know if they do or if I should bite the bullet and give her antibiotics? TIA

    If it was my child, I would do the antibiotics. It is an infection and could appear to be better but then get worse. It isn't worth the risk to me.

    If an infection goes untreated it can likely spread to something more severe. Take the antibiotics.

    I'm surprised your Dr. didn't try to be more persuasive on the antibiotics. While she may seem fine now in a few days she could start exhibiting new symptoms.

    My lo has had 2 UTI's. It took a fever of almost 104 on the 2nd one for me to realize what was going on. I gather she probably had it for a while beforehand.

    I don't want to have baby popping antiobitics for every little thing, but I think a UTI warrants the full 10 day course of treatment...
