temps differ orally?

I take my temps orally by placing the thermometer under my tongue in the pocket in the back of my mouth.  I will take temp from both sides of my mouth and they almost always differ!  Which one do I use?  Today my right side was 97.12 and my left was 97.44.  That is pretty significant.  Any suggestions?

    It doesn't matter which sid eyou use, but pick one and stick to it.  It's the only way to get a real reading.

    Did you take the right one first?? You only need to temp one time because usually by the time you take a 2nd temp your temperature could have gone up by then from moving around. Pick a side, take it one time and be done with it.

    Yes, there are different spots in your mouth to take your temp. They all vary as does it vary orally to vaginally. If you temp orally - be consistent. It will throw off your charts.
