When would you do bday party?

I am due Sat November 6th & DS will be 2 Tues November 2nd.  We don't do huge parties, mostly family and a few kids whose Moms invite us to theirs.  Given my due date and the weather up here, I was thinking of doing his party early.  Like on Halloween weekend?  We might even be able to get away with partially outside party then.  The night before Halloween we have two adult parties to attend, if I can stand it, so that day might be too much for me.  Maybe even a pizza party on Halloween, say early evening after trick or treating (the older kids that is) all day? Or would you go even earlier, the weekend of the 23-24?  I know he has no clue what a birthday is but I'd feel bad if I didn't do something.

    I would do it the w/e before Halloween.  It seems like you have a lot going on Halloween w/e.

    This. I think piling all of that, plus party (and all of the set up, preparation, and deconstructive type things that go along with such), would be way too much for one weekend. At least it would be for me!

    I'd do the weekend before Halloween. DS will have no clue anyways and what if you go early with the baby? You're due a week after Halloween?!

    Yeah, this.  DS's birthday is less than 2 weeks before Christmas so we decided to have his party in November last year.  It was great and we didn't feel like we were having to squeeze his birthday in with the holidays.

    I agree with everyone else, do it the weekend before Halloween. My DD birthday is Oct 27th, I'm scheduled to have a C Section on the 20th, we are doing her party this upcoming Sunday the 3rd. We will still have cake and ice cream on her actual birthday date because her little sister will be here :)
