2nd Trimester

My vagina is KILLING me.

Lately, everytime I walk or even stand there is a terrible pain...like someone kicked me in the crotch or like I pulled a muscle in my vagina. AWFUL.  I've read about round ligament pain and I'm guessing this is what is going on but I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing this. I have an appointment tomorrow so I can talk to the Dr. but I guess I'm just hoping for someone to tell me that I'm not alone and they can relate!!

Re: My vagina is KILLING me.

  • I had that when I was around 5 weeks, and again this past Saturday.  I used to get it on the first day of my period as well.  Mine was always in my pelvic floor...around my perineum.  It felt like someone kicked me in the vag.  As far as I can tell, if it's the same thing, it's either gas or ligament pain.

  • I have read about this too. It is called "lightning crotch" no joke, google it.

It's a form of round ligament pain if I recall correctly and it is common during pregnancy.

  • I thought lightening crotch was like a sudden pain that went away quickly though...am I wrong?
  • Yup.  I've had that off and on all the way through so far.  My best description for it so far is that it feels like I'm being stabbed in the vag.

  • Google Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction and see if you relate to any of that. I have SPD and I first described it as thought someone kicked my pelvis and vagina until it bruised. Essentially, the front part of my pelvis has loosened so much that it is dislocated. Unlike lightning crotch or RLP which is miserable for a moment, SPD is a pain that is much more constant. I truly hope SPD is not the case for you!

Thank you, I'll google that. The round ligament pain does throw me off b/c I've read that it will ease and mostly, this doesn't, unless I'm sitting down. I appreciate the response!
