Hi everyone - this is my first post to this board, so I am sorry to start off my intro with a few questions! As I've gotten further along with my pregnancy (I'm 34 weeks), I've become increasingly more interested in trying to have a natural birth and would love some advice. Can anyone recommend a relaxation CD or iTunes "songs" that talk you through visualization? Are there any good hot/cold compresses out there that you would recommend? What about a hand massager? Anything else that you may have used and appreciated during labor? Thanks!!! ![]()
Re: Any recommendations for what to use during labor?
I would get hypnobabies, stat! LOL
Other things that were in my labor bag:
plug-in fan
dried cherry pit sack (same idea as a rice sack)
rolling pin (FAVORITE item EVER...was used most of my labor for rubbing my back)
tennis balls and socks (for point pressure)
lotion for back rubs/foot rubs (no scent)
food
If I think of anything else, I will let you know....
All of the things noted above were recommended by our birth class instructors....I never ended up using any of them except a birthing ball though.
I will say though, the fan was not recommended to us but I ended up using one at home throughout my entire labor. "I'm hot, I'm cold, I'm hot, I'm cold" was how it went for me so the fan was a must. But I will say the BEST thing was that my doula brought a tiny little battery powered fan to the birth center which she pulled out right after I delivered DD. Man, was that nice!!!
