So today I decided to reread some of TCOYF instead of another romance novel and in chapter 11, Maximizing Your Chance of Getting Pregnant she says "However, for those of you who have been trying at random for a year or have been timing intercourse by charting for about four cycles, I would encourage you to get a sperm analysis done as soon as possible. (pg 160) " She goes on to say at the conclusion of the chapter "So if you have not gotten pregnant after 4 to 6 cycles of intercourse during your most fertile days, you should carefully read Chapter 14 to see what diagnostic tests and treatments to consider. (pg 168)"
So my question is: has anyone done this when you got to cycle 4? I'm on cycle 4 now and I always thought you should wait a year, even with charting, if your cycles are regular and normal, etc. Am I wrong? Should I be worried if I don't get pg this cycle? TIA!
Re: Does anyone do this? (Or has anyone done this)

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
We are probably going to request an SA after month 6 just to rule out issues with DH. But we won't pursue other testing until the year mark.
I don't think, by any means, that you should be worried if you don't get pg on cycle 4. Several ladies on here have gotten BFPs well after cycle 4 of charting. My sister charted and used opks for 16 months before she got pg. They had testing done at the 1 year mark and nothing was wrong with either of them. It can take time.
