I am prepping for my local multiples consignment sale next week. I'm selling everything related to my singleton pregnancy since we are having twins now. So, what would you pay for the following keeping in mind that everything is 2 years old and in great shape:
Pottery Barn Kids Crib Bedding Set from 2008 (bumper, quilt, and pillow case (small to be placed onto a glider). I was thinking $50 - too much?
Graco IPO Stroller - retails for $99 in store - ask $40??
Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Stroller - retails $180 in store - ask $80??
Floppy Seat Cart Cover - retails for $39.99 in store - ask $20??
I have no clue what to price these items or what people are willing to pay. I need suggestions. Thanks ladies!!
Re: What would you pay??
id highball, and then if people want to bargain, let them.
If it's anything like our local Moms of Multiples consignment sale (my friend has twins), then it's not the type of thing where you can bargain. Everything is set up and you shop independently. However, I could be totally wrong.
I agree with izzourclue about the pricing. I don't like paying much for used things, unless they are in impeccable shape, and maybe your stuff is. Good luck with the sale!
i was picturing a flea market type deal... but if its like the pp said then id go with what the person who posted above my first post. i am not big on paying a lot for used stuff. unless its never been used.
Check out ebay before pricing your bedding, people go crazy for the pottery barn sets, new and used. Check the completed listings to see what they actually sold for.
As far as the stroller I would only pay between $30 and $50 for a used stroller, depending on the condition what it offers. I sold my Graco double that was only a year old, and used about 10 times for $50 with the extra carseat base, and people were trying to talk me down from that. A floppy seat I wouldn't pay more than $10 - $15.
I agree with this. I think your prices sound right on except for the cart cover. I'd put that at about $15. If you're stuff is in excellent condition, people will see that and pay the price for it. And no matter what you price it at, even dirt cheap, people will try to talk you down. Price it slightly high that way if need be you can post a sign towards the end of the sale for half price. Or if it doesn't sell, take it to your local consignment shop after this sale and see if they will buy it.
I tried to sell my Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe at a Garage Sale for $50 and people complained that $50 was too much for it, and it's in great condition.
I think you'll more likely get 30% of the original value of something than 50% but you can always keep your prices, bargain with people, or mark stuff down later if it's not selling.
