Thank you TTC for ruining a perfectly good night...

So I had dinner with a large group of our Air Force friends tonight for someones birthday. Pretty much all the couples there aside from us and one other girl has a child under the age of one. One girl even came out who just gave birth 3 days ago.

While I absolutely LOVE all these kids and parents and feel like they are extended family, for the first time ever it was a little hard being around them without getting a bit depressed. All the moms hang around talking about what baby _____ did that day, how they nursed, how their kid goes to sleep easiest, what to do about colic, etc. I just sit there quiet. 

In no way do I feel upset by them doing this, it's totally normal, I just wish I could be involved. Usually it doesnt bother me, but tonight I was a tad bit jealous of it all. 

I guess I just needed to vent about it DH gets mad at me when I talk about it to him. Thanks for reading :-)

EDIT: Changed AF to Air Force as I forgot that AF on this board stands for Aunt Flo Indifferent (though I wish I was hanging out with her right now too!)

    Funny story: I totally thought you were trying to say AF friends. I kept reading the sentence over and over. After a minute it dawned on me that it was Air Force friends. Duh!

    Seriously though, *big freakin' hugs*. I know how ya feel. 

    edit: lol you must have realized the abbreviation while I was typing.

    I'm so sorry about that!  I know exactly what you mean...I don't resent people with new babies, just feel sad that isn't me!  Makes me feel left out when people are having baby talk.

    Oh girl, do I hear you... I'm a teacher and I'm the ONLY girl on the Kindergarten team without a kid. It gets soooo old sometimes.

    Haha! I did get to hold all the babies (coincidentally they are all girls. All 5 of them!)

    haha! Yeah I realized when I was doing a reread and I had to think about it a minute myself.

    I'm really sorry. Totally know how you feel and it sucks.

    At least you got to hold cute babies out of the deal!

    I totally know how you feel. I have two different groups of friends that I love dearly, but everything is about their babies or kids or pregnancies and it would be nice to contribute to the convos... but I just sit there.

    My DH doesn't make conversation about TTC easy for me, either. He always gets irritated and tells me that it'll happen for us when it's meant to happen, or it's just not our time yet, or that I need to not stress out and it'll happen. Makes me want to strangle him!

    I know exactly how you feel-- you are happy for your friends and excited for them but you are still sad that you can't have that for yourself.  It sucks, but hopefully it will work out for all of us!
